Stops the Loop-Out: If you pull back too hard, the bike wants to flip over (a "loop-out"). The footbrake overrides the motor's power and pulls the bike back down to the ground.

Finds the Balance Point: To wheelie smoothly, you must find the "sweet spot" where the bike balances on the rear wheel without needing extra throttle. Lightly tapping the footbrake helps you lock in this balance point by dragging your speed just enough to drop the front end a fraction of an inch.

Replaces Hand Levers: Using your foot is often faster and feels more natural when you are leaning back and putting all your focus on pulling the handlebars
